Grace Notes
The Koinonia Festival
Koinonia 2011 was held on Saturday December 4. We set up in front of Westside Elementary and met some great people! Thanks to all the volunteers who sorted clothes and delivered furniture, and special thanks to Principal Hammond who showed much love and hospitality. Kids and parents enjoyed free hamburgers and hot dogs and lots of clothes and household items were given away.
Partnership with Westside Elementary School
Our Prayer Warriors and Pastors met with Westside Principal Cynthia Hammond recently to pray for the school, staff and students, and to deliver our collected school supplies. We are looking forward to our partnership with Westside, activities we can share and the support we can give each other! We will continue to collect items at church. There's a list of needed items on the table in the main room.
Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child is a ministry of Franklin Graham's Samaritan's Purse. Our church donated 80 boxes this year.
Dave Wallace who recently joined the national staff of OCC led the way filling, packing, and delivering boxes of toys, candy and gifts that will be given to children all over the world.
Our gifts come from God, through us, to others
We want to serve our community by sharing the gifts we have been given. As we grow and learn to tune our hearts to serving others, all kinds of new ideas can come our way. We always collect items in the "gift box" in the sanctuary-donations for the food pantry, good used clothing, or other needed items. We also always collect larger items like furniture and household goods. If you are in need, please let us know. Some household items are available now and looking for a home. Call the office at 922-4919 or let someone know Sunday evening if you are in need or have something to donate.
